Nitrided steel: the warmer character

Nitriding enriches the surface of the steel with nitrogen in a high-temperature process. The result: a considerably harder, rust-protected surface and a sound with more body and a shorter, focused sustain. Many experienced players prefer exactly this character.

D minor: open and universal

Blue or gold: two characters

The colouring forms during the nitriding process itself; it is not lacquer and does not flake away. Blue reads as calm and understated, gold as warm and present. The two are identical in sound.
