Kurd D minor is the most played scale in the world: warm, meditative, melodic from the first touch, ideal for starting out. Amara Celtic sounds more open and more weightless, with a hint of melancholy, and is a favourite among players who improvise rather than learn pieces. Both in D minor, both without wrong notes. 9, 10 or 12 notes: what the difference really means

9 notes: everything you need to begin, clear and easy to read. 10 notes: one extra tone field that noticeably opens up the melodic range. 12 notes: for players who already own an instrument and want more freedom of movement. Every additional tone field has to be worked in by hand and matched to all the others, which is why the price rises with the note count.
